I am fascinated by our ability to learn and perform complex
and
dynamic tasks. Examples of such tasks include driving a car, piloting
a plane, and controlling air-traffic. I develop cognitive models
of people performing these tasks to understand the cognitive processes
underlying their skill. I use the cognitive models to (1) build
intelligent tutoring systems to help people in learning these dynamic
tasks, (2) build intelligent software agents to augment people in
performing these dynamic tasks, and (3) build cognitive agents to
interact with people in team-based dynamic tasks.
